The secret lies in the vibration

When it comes to ensuring the profitability of a nut or olive plantation, there’s a key factor that cannot be overlooked: the longevity of the trees.

And, while it may seem unbelievable, this critical detail is often neglected, especially during the crucial harvesting phase and in the tools used for the job.

Joaquín Faure knows this well. This multi-crop farmer carefully tends to 11 hectares of land between Aragón and Catalonia: six dedicated to cover crops and five to almond cultivation. After years of experience and trying practically every harvesting system, he is certain: there’s no comparison.
“It used to be absolute chaos: you had to spread tarps all over the ground, worry about the rain, and hope that workers would show up,” he recalls with a smile. “Now, harvesting almonds with the machine is almost a hobby for me,” confesses Joaquín, who especially enjoys working alone. “I like not having to depend on anyone,” he adds with conviction.

Today, Joaquín works with an AutoPick GTi from Arcusin, equipped with an umbrella and dehuller, which allows him to obtain clean almonds—free of leaves, twigs, and husks—in record time. The addition of the de-huller has been a game-changer, bringing him more efficiency and, above all, greater profitability.
“Before, cleaning the almonds was a real headache. After collecting them, I had to pay for cleaning based on the total weight—even though only a third of it ended up being clean fruit!” he explains, relieved that this problem is now a thing of the past. “With the AutoPick, that’s no longer an issue,” he adds with satisfaction.

If there’s one feature Joaquín highlights about the AutoPick GTi, it’s the vibration. “It’s very gentle; that was what convinced me right from the start,” he says. The Arcusin harvesting vibrator is designed to avoid damaging the tree trunk, regardless of its diameter (between 8 and 50 cm) or the terrain conditions. This unique market feature has significantly improved the management of his plantation.
“I can water without any worries. With other machines, I’d have to stop irrigating for days to avoid damage, which is impossible for me because my land is saline. If I stop watering, the salt rises and damages the tree roots,” he explains.

With the AutoPick, Joaquín has found the perfect machine: it keeps working, keeps watering, and, most importantly, does so without compromising the health of his trees.
