At Arcusin, we’ve always backed talent. We believe in sharing knowledge, opening doors and walking alongside those who are ready to make their mark. That’s why partnering with Robotech is not just about supporting young talent — it’s also about learning with them.
Robotech is a team of students from Pla d’Urgell, aged between 12 and 16, who have been participating in the First Lego League for several years. This 2024 season has been nothing short of exceptional: they were the only team in the world to win two awards at the global final held in Houston, USA.
A day at Arcusin: shared technology
A few weeks ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming them to our headquarters. It was a day of technical exchange and shared enthusiasm. Ferran Cusiné, Director of Engineering and R&D, and Pere Corral, Head of the Technical Office, showed them some of our processes and current projects, from integrated automation systems to models such as the AutoStack FSX and the MultiPack E14.
The team showed great interest in how our machines work and in the technical details. What stood out to us the most was the way they observed, asked questions and connected ideas — a clear sign of how well they work.
From Lleida to Houston… via Ferrol
To reach the global final, Robotech first had to win the provincial phase in Lleida and then the national final held in Ferrol. In Houston, among 160 teams from 55 countries, they earned two honours: third place for Robot Performance and the Excellence in Engineering Award. A result that reflects everything behind the scenes: planning, design, testing, mistakes… and many hours of dedication.
Their robot, Bolt, was designed to tackle the challenges posed by this year’s theme: Submerged, which focused on underwater environments and the issues caused by excessive use of disposable plastics.
In addition to their robot’s performance, Robotech presented Boottler, a project aimed at standardising reusable packaging to reduce waste and promote a more sustainable system. A technical proposal — but also educational and social.
Supporting real learning processes
At Arcusin, we believe in projects with real potential. Robotech is one of them. Being part of their journey, seeing how they work and sharing knowledge with them also reflects how we understand innovation: collaborative, applied and with our feet firmly on the ground (and in the field).
We’re proud to play our part in a path that’s just getting started — and that, without a doubt, will go much further.
